You are to be congratulated for this video - really enjoyed it. And, like with the Corris Railway, the L&B railway and the Welsh Highland Railway, may we hope that the Southwold Railway rises phoenix-like for the good of tourism and the local economy. No one with common sense can surely stand in the way from this happening..

Well done very well put together. For many years I owned a gatehouse on the closed M&GN on the edge of Long Sutton No 86. there where I think something like a hundred gatehouses on ninety odd miles of track. Or was it the other way round! Many of them still exist though some have been enlarged almost beyond recognition. Perhaps a future program in your series? Good luck anyway!

Such delightful simpler but richer times ... imagine living then , being English in England ... Though I am certain there were difficulties , there was richness then. So simply charming I am raptured.

I love the now-and-then visual overlays. As a railway enthusiast , i can always spot old railway right-of-ways when travelling thru the countryside. I find old abandoned railways quite .. wistful? . Thank you for a delightful video. ;)

Having just found your channel from the Southwold line video I was intrigued to see this one covering another of my favourite destinations. I'm usually at Hunstanton for two long weekends every year and never realised that the railway actually ran through where the holiday park we stay at is nowadays. In fact, looking at the area on Google maps it's not much more than a stone's throw from where the station would have been. Must take a little diversion next time that I drive up there to have a look at Wolferton station. Thanks for another excellent video, subscribed.

Superb documentary of a long extinct line. My grandparents lived in Southwold and then Halesworth in later years ...so I knew both towns aswell as a little of the history of the line ... Your footage brought back many happy memories ....particularly Southwold Common...

My parents took us to Southwold and Walberswick in the sixties nand I remember taking pictures of the old course of the line towards the latter.Then it was not so overgrown obviously.

Southwold is one of my favourite UK coastal towns and we've stayed there several times, the last time in a hotel that was a favourite of Joyce Grenfell, an actress, writer & singer who was most active in the 50's & 60's. Another very enjoyable & informative video - many thanks.

Nice video, can you please make one about the Hayling Island branch line? I really like it, theres still a huge old bridge remaining and i believe one of the trains is currently preserved, which also has an interesting history in itself.

Visited Southwold for a long weekend quite a few years back, well worth going there as it is an all round interesting and very photogenic town. Stayed at the Blyth Hotel which was originally the Station Hotel and is still in business today, you can see it quite clearly on the right of the picture at 18:36 in the video. It is partly obscured by what I'm guessing may be an engine shed. The defunct police station which still occupies the railway station site closed in 2016 and was operational at the time of my visit. The police station was preceded by Southwold Fire Station at that same site. Liked the video very much, thanks.
